Cassino Military Cemetery 1999 This is Cassino War Cemetery as taken in 1999 it shows the graves of soldiers from the Commonwealth that lost their lives during the battle for Cassino and the Hitler line on the advance to Rome.The Abbey of Monte Cassino has been rebuilt and looks down on all the surrounding countryside. I suppose this could be used as an aftermath of the terrible cost in lives around this area in 1944. More than 4054 war dead are buried here and 855 of these are Canadians
